environment. Each of these tools allows users to execute their PLM responsibilities
more efficiently and effectively.
Workflow Engine
The Datastay Workflow engine controls the workflow behind the different
processes required to manage the product lifecycle. Virtually any process
can be modeled to give it structure and automate handoffs across all participants.
This ensures that processes are more efficiently completed regardless
of the tasks involved. Users always have visibility into the entire process.
When combined with the Notification Engine users can be proactively informed
of relevant workflow events and status changes that require their attention.
Analytics Tools
The Datastay Reports Engine enables ad-hoc querying of both product and
workflow information maintained within the Datastay environment. Users
have the ability to create custom queries and store them for real-time
output into HTML or Microsoft Excel reports that can be saved and shared.
This gives users powerful insight into their products and processes, allowing
them to make well-informed decisions. In addition, users have the ability
to create global queries that allow all users to run a common set of reports
and output certain queries in graph or chart formats. This allows analysis
to be completed in a synthesized and easy-to-understand format.
Search Tools
The Datastay search engine provides extensive search functionality across
all data maintained in the environment including any attached files. Users
can utilize simple text searches or complex parametric search tools to
quickly find the information that they require. Powerful filter functionality
also allows users to find groups of items that meet specific criteria.
Furthermore, the Datastay search engine indexes the contents of files
to ensure that users can quickly search within them, regardless of their
size. This makes it easy to search Microsoft files, Adobe Acrobat files,
Autodesk files, text files and others. The end result is less time spent
searching for information.
